Parking ticket fines have to be paid within 10 calendar days. If not, the fine will double after 10 days and triple after 90 days.

How to Pay Your Parking Ticket

Parking ticket fines have to be paid within 10 calendar days; if not, the fine will double after 10 days and triple after 90 days. There are no convenience fees to pay for a parking ticket using your debit or credit card.

Pay Online

Pay online using GRPayIt.

Payments made through GRPayIt post by noon on the following business day.

Please note that when you use online bill pay through your personal bank, most banks will mail a check to the City. The payment may not post the same day, even though your bank deducts the funds from your account immediately.

Use the green envelope and include the ticket. Do not mail cash. Mailed payments post as soon as possible. Postmark dates demonstrate on-time payments.

Pay in Person

Payments are accepted at the customer service windows located in the Monroe Level lobby at City Hall.

  • Business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
    Parking validation: 30 minutes of free parking in the Government Center Ramp. 
    Forms of Payment: The clerk accepts cash, check, money order, cashier's check, American Express, Visa, Master Card and Discover.
  • In-person payments post by noon on the following business day.
  • Drop Box: If you can't make it to City Hall during our business hours, use the drop box located at 300 Ottawa Ave NW in front of Chase Bank; it is marked "City of Grand Rapids/City Payments."
    • Drop box payments for tickets are marked paid as of the prior business day. The drop box is checked every business day at 8 a.m. Do not put cash in the envelope; use a check or money order.
