Visit a City Pool

Dive into summer at Grand Rapids' three outdoor pools — Briggs Park Pool, Martin Luther King Park Pool, and Richmond Park Pool. From swim lessons to lap swim and open swim, our pools provide safe, affordable recreation in convenient neighborhood locations. With trained lifeguards and accessible amenities, our City pools help families and friends stay cool, active, and connected all season long.

Pool Hours

The 2026 outdoor pool season runs June 6 through August 15.

City pools are open six days a week and are closed on Mondays for routine maintenance and cleaning. Pool closures will be posted to the department's Facebook page and to the closure hotline at 616.456.3699.

Mondays CLOSED

Tuesdays 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Wednesdays 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Thursdays 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Fridays 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Saturdays 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Sundays 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Pool Admission

All pool visitors are required to check-in and have a season pass to enter the pool deck area. No day or guest passes are available. 

Passes may be purchased in advance through our recreation software or purchased at a pool. An adult (18+) is required to purchase a pass and create an account for a child.

A resident is any individual who resides with Grand Rapids City limits. A non-resident is an individual who resides outside of city boundaries, even if they reside in the larger metro area.

Cash and credit are accepted at all pools. Replacement pool pass cards are $5.

City Pool Rules & Regulations

For your safety and health we have implemented the following rules and regulations. Pool Managers are authorized by City Ordinance to expel anyone from the pool area who has violated these regulations or exhibits inappropriate behavior

Visit Grand Rapids Splash Pads

With 15 locations around the city, splash pads are a great way to cool off in Grand Rapids during the hot days of summer. To activate splash pads, please use a bare hand or foot on the sensors.

Admission: Free

Dates of Operation: June 6 through September 13

Hours of Operation: Open daily from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm during the summer season. 

Note: Lincoln Park Splash Pad operates 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Report a Facility Issue at a Pool or Splashpad

We take pride in maintaining safe, pools and splash pads across Grand Rapids. If you see an issue, we want to know about it! For assistance at a pool, please inform pool staff. Additional issues for pools and splash pads may be submitted electronically through the form button below.

We use a reporting platform to track and monitor maintenance requests. For help using the platform, please read the Maintenance Request Guide.
