Grand Rapids Water System

The City of Grand Rapids is a regional provider of water to municipalities in Kent and Ottawa counties. We serve a population of approximately 280,000 and cover a service area of 137 square miles. We call this system the Grand Rapids Water System.

Wastewater and Stormwater

Our Water Resource Recovery Facility collects and treats an average of 40 million gallons of wastewater a day! The Environment Services Department of the City of Grand Rapids also oversees stormwater management, green infrastructure, and air quality in the City.
