1. Check your eligibility
Fire hydrant connections allow temporary water use for:

Construction
-
Filling a swimming pool
Our connections are only for fire hydrants within the Grand Rapids Water System.
2. Have your credit/debit card ready
You'll need to enter your credit/debit card information to pay the deposit and rental fee. We accept all major credits cards. The total cost for renting a hydrant connection depends on your use and whether your connection is metered or not.
- Residential account holders filling a single swimming pool pay a $50 fee and $100 deposit in advance, plus $75 per week for hydrant use. This connection is not metered.
- Non-residential customers use a metered connection and must pay a $300 fee and $500 deposit up front, plus $25 per week and the metered volume of water used.
- For customers without a water system account, the deposit amount is $500.
Please keep in mind that we do not supply hoses. You should check with local rental companies for the availability and price of renting a hose.
