Apply for a Vacation House Check
The Grand Rapids Police Department is pleased to provide the Vacation House Check service to members of our community. To use this service, you must be absent from your home for at least 4 days and we need to receive this application at least 7 calendar days prior to your scheduled vacation.

- Your residence is inside the City of Grand Rapids
- You will be away from your residence for at least 4 days
- You are sending this application at least 7 days prior to your vacation

We will contact you to confirm your vacation check. After that... enjoy your vacation!
We'll check your house while you're gone
Volunteers check the security of the outside of your home while you're gone. If we find an issue we'll notify you, your emergency contact, and law enforcement immediately.
