1. Make sure your event is eligible
Check out our Park Facility Reservation Guide. We've outlined the process and standards for hosting an event at park facilities. You may find that the scope of your event is beyond facility reservation and may need additional planning through the Special Event Permit process. Have questions? Give us a call at the number listed in the Contact Us section.
2. Plan your event
Here are some things to keep in mind as you decide which facility is best for you:
- Your preferred event date and time
- Expected attendance. Make sure your chosen facility is big enough for your event
- Whether or not you'll serve beer and/or wine. You'll have the option to add a beer/wine permit to your reservation. Permits are $35
3. Reserve facilities online
If you don't already have a Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation account, you'll need to create one to request your reservation. Our online listings have photos, locations, seating capacity, and pricing information.
4. Check your facility for availability
Each facility has a calendar to show whether or not it's available.
5. Submit your request and your license
After you submit your request, we'll verify the details. If you didn't request a beer/wine permit, you don't have to do anything until payment.
If you requested a beer/wine permit, you'll need to email a copy of your driver's license to our office within one business day of submitting your request. Our email is listed in the Contact Us section of this page. The facility reservation won't be approved until you submit your driver's license.
6. Pay the reservation fee
Once we've confirmed the details and received your license if you requested a beer/wine permit, we'll send you a payment link for the full reservation amount. You have 48 hours after receiving the email to complete the payment.
7. We'll send you a confirmation with additional details
Your receipt will be sent to the email associated with your account. It will have information on our refund policies and clean up procedures.
