Park Facility Reservation Guide

Are you planning an event or activity and want to host it in a park? We have many park spaces and facilities for rent:

  • Picnic shelters
  • Pavilions
  • Gymnasiums
  • Community rooms

Determine your event details

Knowing the details for your event will help to find the best facility for your needs. Decide how many people you plan on attending or participating. Our facilities have varying capacities so it's good to know this before checking them out. When will your event be? Be prepared to provide us with your preferred date and we'll check the availability for the venue you choose.

This reservation process applies to small group gatherings such as:

  • Family reunions
  • Birthday parties
  • Open houses
  • Memorials or wakes
  • Company picnics
  • Holiday celebrations
  • Rehearsal dinners
  • Retirement parties
  • Baby showers
  • Wedding showers
  • Baptisms
  • Confirmations

Some types of events are hard to pinpoint the exact number of attendees and event needs. Head over to the Office of Special Events Permit process If any of the following applies to your event:

  • Open to the general public
  • Has an open Facebook page
  • Is sponsored
  • Expected attendance is over the capacity of the facility
  • Fundraising
  • Selling products
  • Weddings
  • Filming

Additionally, the following require special permits or insurance policies that you can get through the Office of Special Events:

  • Bounce houses
  • Rental equipment including stages and bleachers
  • Amplified sound
  • Anything requiring stakes being pounded into the ground
  • Staging

The Special Event Permit process helps you with additional planning such as site plans, street closures, equipment rental, recycling and trash, vendors, a certificate of insurance, and a security plan.

Decide if you'll serve beer and/or wine

We'll guide you through a permit request if you need one. Once we approve your reservation, we'll invoice you for the $35 permit fee.

Keep in mind:

  • You must be at least 21 years old
  • You agree to use this permit responsibly. It's a privilege and not a right
  • You and your guests can have/consume beer and wine only. This permit does not allow liquor
  • You can't sell alcohol at your event with this permit
  • We expect you to keep your beer and/or wine in the picnic shelter or pavilion. This permit doesn't allow you or your guests to drink in the parking lot, restrooms, playground, swimming pool or while walking around the park
  • You're responsible for checking that only people of legal drinking age (21+) are consuming and that they are being responsible
