NFBPA
About NFBPA - West MI Chapter
NFBPA is the principal and most progressive organization dedicated to the advancement of black public leadership in local and state governments. NFBPA is an independent, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1983. With over 2,500 members, NFBPA has established a national reputation for designing and implementing quality leadership development initiatives.
The West Michigan Chapter of NFBPA was formed in 2019 by members of the City of Grand Rapids following their attendance at the Annual NFBPA Forum in Orlando, FL. The group in attendance was affected by the power of community, networking opportunities, the deliberate development of Black leaders, and progressive efforts to enhance the quality of life in our communities. It is with this inspiration and impact, both personally and professionally, that members, along with the collaborative efforts of a core team, were led to launch a local chapter in West Michigan.
