1. Review the registration requirements
To be eligible to register to vote in Grand Rapids, you need to meet these requirements:
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be at least 18 years old by election day
- Must be a resident of Michigan and the City of Grand Rapids
2. Make sure you're registered to vote before updating your registration

3. Make sure you have all the required information
Before you update your status, have the following information ready:
- Current address
- Driver's license or State ID number
4. Update your registration online
Name Changes
Keep in mind that if you've changed your name, you need to re-register in person. Visit your Secretary of State branch office. Make sure to bring legal documentation of your name change. They'll need a marriage license or court papers to verify the change.
