1. Decide how many hydrants you want to adopt
Residents can adopt one hydrant—or as many as they’d like.
Groups and organizations are welcome to participate by adopting hydrants. A minimum of five hydrants is required, and you’re encouraged to adopt as many as you can maintain.
2. Locate a Hydrant
Use this map to select your hydrant.
Enter an address in the search bar or zoom in on the map to find available hydrants, shown in yellow.
Note the hydrant number and enter it on your application.
3. Review Guidelines
Make sure that you’ve read Safety Guidelines for Clearing Snow from Fire Hydrants.
4. Complete the online form
5. We'll review your form
You will receive an email confirmation of your adoption that will include program information including important guidelines for hydrant care. Adopting a hydrant is a yearly commitment.
