Youth Fire Academy

2. Make sure you're eligible to apply

To participate, students must:

• Be a high school student
• Be between 15 and 18 years old on July 22nd
• Have a minimum GPA of 2.0
• Be in good standing at your school
• Understand and/or exhibit the GRFD core values of honesty, integrity, loyalty, teamwork and excellence
• Have no felony convictions
• Be in good physical condition and pass a physical

3. Make sure you can attend every day of the academy

Attendance is mandatory for each day of the academy. The academy dates are Monday July 22, 2019 - Friday July 26, 2019. 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Before the program starts, you'll need to attend a mandatory information meeting. A parent or legal guardian must attend this meeting with the student. The meeting will be held on July 17th that a parent or guardian must attend with each student at 6:00 pm.

4. Gather your information

Have this information ready before you start the application:

• Your resume
• Your school's address and phone number
• The email address of a counselor, teacher, or coach as a character reference
• An explanation of why you want to attend the Fire Youth Academy
• Your employment history information

6. Mail or Email your application to us

Download the PDF application and fill it out electronically or by hand. You can submit the form electronically by clicking Submit on the bottom of the last page of the form. We recommend using Adobe Reader if you're filling this out electronically. You can also save your completed application and attach it in an email to jobs@grcity.us.

If you choose to print and fill out the application by hand, mail it to the address below. Keep in mind that the we must receive your application by May 31, 2019.

7. We'll review your application

We'll notify you once we have reviewed your application. You will get an invite to interview for acceptance into the program.
