Apply to Install a Mural
1. Check if your proposed mural is eligible
Murals may be placed on the exterior of infrastructure viewable from the public rights-of-way.
Historic location proposals must first be vetted & approved through the Historic Preservation Commission. Check out the map here.
2. Review the policy
We prohibit any:
- Identifying logo
- Advertisements
- Slogan related to the business product or service
- Persons or characters related to the business product or service
- Architectural feature related to the business product or service
- Commercial message that is related to the business product or service

3. Gather your information
You'll need to provide us with a presentation (either in Google Slides or PowerPoint) to present to the Arts Advisory Committee. This must be submitted through application link below. It must include:
- An image of the proposed site and property address
- An image of the proposed art
- The mural maintenance plan and who's responsible for maintenance
- The concept behind the mural and the materials planned to use

4. Complete the application
5. We'll review your application
We'll assess your mural concept, timeline, maintenance plan and other details. We'll contact you if we need more information.
6. We'll make a recommendation
We forward a recommendation (to either approve or deny) to you, the City Manager, and the Planning Department.
7. Create the mural
After we approve your mural, you're all set to begin creating!
