City to host Fourth Annual Clean Slate GR: Expungement Fair May 3

The Fourth Annual Clean Slate GR: Expungement Fair will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Kroc Center, located at 2500 Division Ave S, Grand Rapids, MI 49507. This free community event, sponsored by the City of Grand Rapids’ Department of Equity and Engagement and Oversight and Public Accountability, is open to all Michigan residents seeking a fresh start through expungement.

City of Grand Rapids issues No-Burn Alert

The Grand Rapids Fire Department today issued a No-Burn Alert, effective immediately, requiring residents to cease all outdoor burning due to dry and windy weather conditions. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources currently lists Grand Rapids as being in a “Very High” risk area. Rain is expected Thursday which may ease the risk and may lift the Alert.

City Manager presents $735 million budget proposal to the Commission

City Manager Mark Washington on Tuesday delivered the first in a series of planned presentations to the City Commission, outlining a proposed $735 million fiscal year 2026 (FY26) budget. Washington said that the proposed budget reflects the City’s commitment to good governance, fiscal stewardship and delivering essential services, while sustaining momentum on transformational community projects.
