Free 24/7 Courtesy Service
We're here with lots of help! When parking in the City of Grand Rapids ramps and lots, we'll help you with any of these issues for FREE. How helpful is that?
- Dead battery? We can give you a jump if your battery is drained
- Locked out? We can get you back in your vehicle if you lock your keys in there
- Flat tire? We can help you put on your spare tire or give you a little boost of air
- Lost your car? We can help you find your vehicle in our ramps and lots
- Empty tank? If you're on E, we can fill your gas tank up to five gallons (you pay for the fuel)
- Dinged? We can fill out an accident report, so you can file an insurance claim
Cost
Prices can vary depending on the day, the location, and what events may be in town. Event Rates apply when attendant is present. Event rates are determined based on anticipated occupancy and posted at facility entrance. Take a look at our Interactive Parking Facilities Map to review pricing. Paying for Parking
To pay, we take cash, and debit or credit cards (MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and American Express). Some locations accept Apple Pay, Android Pay and Google Pay. For special events, you'll pay upon entry at most parking locations. When visiting our parking areas on a regular day, most ramps and lots are paid upon exit.
Accessibility
We offer accessible parking in all of our ramps and lots. These spaces are clearly marked. In most ramps, you can find accessible parking spaces on the first level or near elevators/stairways. For the Government Center Ramp, use the south entrance on Monroe Ave (furthest from Michigan St).

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
We offer electric vehicle charging stations on four of our parking ramps. You'll pay the same as other users to park and pay the meter at the charging station to pay for the charging cost.
General Rules
Look for any parking related signage and follow their directions, ex. Meters, No Parking sign or Loading Zone sign. We don't want you to get a ticket. Follow these rules to help keep people safe from harm, park:
- 3 feet from a driveway
- 15 feet from fire hydrants
- 15 feet from or within intersections
- 20 feet from marked crosswalks
- 20 feet from railroad tracks
- 30 feet from a flashing signal, stop sign, or traffic signal
Parking Meter Locations
Use our Parking Meter Map. Find costs, enforcement hours, and parking time limits for each meter.
Hours of Operation
We check meters from 8 am until 7 pm, Monday through Friday. We have posted signs on meters that we check after 7pm or on Saturdays. You’ll find most of these along Monroe Center.
Cost
You will pay between $1 and $2.25 per hour for parking. Check for specific hourly costs on the meter, and the pay station or on the Motu App.
Pay by Phone Call
If you do not have a smartphone, you can also pay by calling Motu at 616-432-2478 and follow the instructions.
Pay at a Pay Station
We have two types of pay stations, pay-by-plate and pay-by-space. Pay-by space areas have blue signs and pay-by-plate have orange signs.

Accessible Parking
Use our Parking Meter Map to locate disabled parking meters. You can use these if you have a disability plate or placard. Parking is free when you have the State of Michigan disability placard with a yellow free parking sticker.

- Juneteenth
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Veterans' Day

- Day after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
We offer electric vehicle charging stations on Ottawa Ave in front of City Hall. These are metered spaces.
Free moped parking is available inside our Pearl Ionia ramp and at our Ottawa Fulton Surface Lot. Don't lock your moped to trees, lamp posts, or benches. This can block access to people walking or trying to get around.
