Water Pool-ooza on the Grand comes to Riverside Park June 1

The City of Grand Rapids is thrilled to announce Water Pool-ooza on the Grand, a FREE community event aimed at engaging families and students in water conservation efforts while providing a day of fun-filled activities and education. The event takes place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Riverside Park (Guild Street Entrance).

Registration opens for free summer day camp, camp counselors sought

The City of Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation today opened registration for its seventh annual Free Summer Day Camp program. The camps run weekdays, June 10 through Aug. 16, and are open to youth 5 to 14. Parks and Recreation also is looking to hire a handful of camp counselors for the program. Counselors work approximately five hours-a-day, 25 hours-a-week. Wages start at $16 per hour.
