Grand Rapids is getting a brand-new riverfront park. Today, Thursday, Aug. 21, state, city and community leaders broke ground on the East Riverfront project – a $19 million investment to turn an old industrial site into an accessible green space for everyone.

The City of Grand Rapids is inviting the public to help select the official commemorative poster for its 175th anniversary celebration. After receiving dozens of submissions from local artists, the City’s Art Advisory Committee has selected three finalists (one withdrawal) – and now it’s up to vote for the winner. Voting is open now through Friday, Sept. 5 at publicinput.com/175postervote.
