2025 Schedule

Our Free Outdoor Summer Fitness Series is back for its tenth year! Join us for a jam-packed summer of cardio, dance, and yoga classes at parks and public spaces all across Grand Rapids.

Classes begin May 12 and run for 15 weeks. Drop-in, no registration required! The Free Outdoor Summer Fitness Series is made possible thanks to partnership with Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. and Priority Health.

There will be no free fitness classes on July 4th.

Mondays, May 12 - August 18 (No class May 26)

Yoga at Mulick Park from 6 to 6:45 p.m.

Description: Discover your inner yogi in a class that builds strength and body awareness. Class will begin with gentle movement and breathing, progressing to standing sequences and finally ended with calm resting poses.

Required Equipment: Mat, towel, water

Address: 1632 Sylvan Ave. SE (meet at southeast corner of the park)

Zumba at Rosa Parks Circle from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

Description: Zumba is a fast, fun, and upbeat dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music. Every class feels like a party, so you will burn calories without even realizing it! All levels welcome.

No equipment needed. Please bring water.

SoulfulMOTION at Mackay-Jaycees Park from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

Description: SoulfulMOTION is an exciting class of fitness and inspiration. This is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) class set to Christian and inspirational music. Designed for anyone regardless of age or fitness level.

Line Dancing at Richmond Park from 7 to 7:45 p.m.

Description: Enjoy line dancing while exercising mind, body, and spirit. In QK Linedance we dance to all genres of music and everyone is welcome!

Tuesdays, May 13 - August 19

Barre at Blue Bridge from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

Description: Barre is a low impact, high intensity total body workout that incorporates elements of pilates, ballet, and yoga. This workout is fast paced and set to fun upbeat music. During the workout you will use your own body weight to complete small range movements at high repetitions meant to fatigue your muscles and build strength and endurance. Class will end with stretching to increase your flexibility. Barre is a great workout for any fitness level as there are options to level up or down based on your own body. Barre is for EVERYBODY.

Glute Aerobics at 555 Monroe from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

Description: Ready to sculpt your glutes and tone your lower body? Glute Aerobics is a fun body-weight rhythmic class! This class will leave you feeling strong, accomplished, and sweaty by incorporating lower body exercises, dance fitness, high reps, and cardio blasts!

Wednesdays, May 14 - August 20

Circuit Training at Ottawa Hills Fitness Court from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

Description: Increase strength, improve endurance, and enjoy time outside in this fun Strength & Cardio Circuit session at the Ottawa Hills Fitness Court! This dynamic outdoor program is designed for all fitness levels, combining energizing cardio intervals with effective strength training using the fitness court equipment.

Whether you're just getting started in your fitness journey or want to take your workouts to the next level, our circuit allows you to work at your own pace and effort while being part of a supportive and motivating group class. 

NOTE: This is a limited run class. Sessions will happen on Wednesdays from June 25 to July 30.

Pumped Up Strength at Cherry Park from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

Description: Pumped Up Strength is a beat-driven group strength training class that uses medium-heavy dumbbells for a total body workout. This upbeat class integrates functional upper and lower body movements that build into blocks of dynamic strength flows for a majorly fun, challenging, and effective workout that feels like a party!

Core Blast at Roosevelt Park from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m.

Description: Strengthen your core muscles with this easy-to-follow class that incorporates small pilates and yoga inspired movements on and off the mat. In this class each movement combination is timed with short intervals, leaving your body feeling fatigued but strong. Options will be give for those who need modifications or would like to increase difficulty.

WERQ at Highland Park from 7 - 7:45 p.m.

Description: WERQ is a nonstop cardio dance class with fun and unique routines set to the hottest pop and hip hop music. Participants will get a high calorie burn and a non-stop workout combining repetitive athletic moves with fresh dance steps. Anyone can WERQ it!

POUND at Blue Bridge from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m.

Description: Using Ripstix (available for use during class), lighly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Designed for all fitness levels, POUND provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up, and rockin' out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.

HIGH Low Fitness at 555 Monroe from 6 to 6:45 p.m.

Description: A lower impact workout (not intensity!), HIGH Low is the sister format to HIGH Fitness. Offering impact progressions for every move, HIGH Low is a steady state cardio workout tailored to the individual, by the individual. Highly adaptable to all fitness levels, this lower impact format focuses on the same elements of the HIGH brand: fun, fabulous music, and a community-based inclusive environment!

Hip Hop Yoga at Pleasant Park from 7 to 7:45 p.m.

Description: Hip Hop Yoga is where mindful movement meets high-energy vibes! This class blends the fluidity of yoga with the rhythm and intensity of hip hop music, creating an experience that is both grounding and empowering. Flow through dynamic sequences, deep stretches, and powerful poses set to a curated playlist of hip-hop beats that will keep you moving and motivated. Turn Up Dance Fitness at Roosevelt Park from 6 - 6:45 p.m.

Description: Turn Up Dance Fitness is a high energy cardio workout which incorporates hip hop, pop, and Latin music, as well as retro and traditional aerobics elements of fitness. This class features a good mix of high and low intensity moves which can easily be adapted for all fitness levels.
