Apply for a Utility Permit

Are you a contractor looking to install utility equipment in the City Right-of-Way? You're in the right place.

You must be an authorized agent of a City-registered Metro Act or Franchise Utility to apply for a Utility Permit.

Online Form

Step 1.Create a Citizen Access account

We use a third party application called Citizen Access for our Utility Permit applications. If you've never used Citizen Access, we recommend that you review how to create an account before starting your application.  First-time use by an authorized agent of a City-registered Metro Act or Franchise Utility requires activation of your registration for online use.  Call the number listed in the Contact Us section to request activation.

Step 2.Make sure you have time to apply

This application will take about 20 minutes once you've gathered the required information identified in the steps below.  You will be able to save your application and resume later if you need more time.

Step 3.Make sure you have all the required information

Make sure you have the following documents in electronic versions to upload with your application:

  • Site plan
  • For Micro-Cell applications, a detailed description including install details, equipment specifications, means of affixing equipment, and means of powering equipment
