Mailing List Generator Walkthrough

The City of Grand Rapids Mailing List Generator is a tool that will pull a list of address based on a set distance from a property, point, or line. Here are the steps on how to use it. 

1. Click on the Public Notification Tool in the upper left corner 
2. Determine how you want to identify the location:
   1. By Address:
      • Enter the address into the 'Select or Search' field in the public notification tool Then hit 'enter'. 
   2. By Point:
      • Navigate to the desired location on the map.
      • Select the point tool,
      • Click on the map where you want to drop the point.
   3. By Line:
      • Navigate to the desired location on the map.
      • Select the line tool. 
      • Click on the map to start your line. Double click to end your line. 
3. Verify the buffer distance (300 feet is the default). Check the box when ready. 
4. Select mailing group:
   • Owner & Occupant Mailer: This will generate a list that includes the owners of the parcels and the occupants of the parcels if there are tenants living on the parcels (e.g., apartments).
   • Owner Mailer: This will generate a list that includes only the owners of a parcel.
   • Please note for City notifications you should include both Owner & Occupants.
5. Select format for download.
6.  Click on the 'Download' button to receive your list.
