Get ready, Grand Rapids! We're turning 175, and we're throwing a HUGE party to celebrate our amazing city! Join us at Rosa Parks Circle for a FREE, fun-filled afternoon celebrating our dodransbicentennial.

What to Expect

• Rock out with Nathan Walton, Cabildo, and DJ Venus Flyytrap.
• Plus, enjoy the sound provided by Triumph Music Academy!
• Carnival games, amazing balloon artists, towering stilt walkers, buskers, and sign a giant community birthday card!
• Enjoy FREE birthday cake, ice cream, and popcorn, provided by our fantastic community partners!
• Explore historical exhibits, including 175 pictures of 175 years of GR.
• Join a special guided tour led by Caroline Cook at 5:30 PM!
• Engage with City departments, play games, grab swag, and win prizes!
• Check out all the community partners attending and the fun activities!

We'll kick everything off with an opening prayer and traditional welcome from members of the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians, the original Indigenous peoples of Grand Rapids, and a mayoral proclamation.

Let's celebrate 175 years together! Come early or stay late and support our fantastic downtown businesses for lunch or dinner.
