Adopt a Hydrant

Would you like to be a Hydrant Hero? You're in the right place! The Adopt-a-Hydrant Program is a collaboration between the Grand Rapids Water System, Fire Department, and its citizens to keep our community’s hydrants clear of snow, ice, and tall grass. The Fire Department encounters the same problem every winter: snow around the hydrants delays the ability for crews to hook to those hydrants. The precious seconds they lose locating and clearing snow from a hydrant may make a difference in your emergency. Together, we can help keep our neighborhoods safe. Scroll down to enroll.
