FY 2026 Neighborhood-Based Public Safety Program

Southeast Neighborhoods

The City of Grand Rapids (City) seeks organizations with the capacity to successfully implement neighborhood-based public safety activities in the geography of the former South East Community Association and Madison Area Neighborhood Association, subsets of the Southtown Specific Target Area.

Background. The City’s neighborhood-based public safety program is a partnership between the Community Development Department (CDD), the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD), and neighborhood-based organizations. The City provides neighborhood-based organizations with financial support to carry out activities that increase public safety, including outreach and education efforts, and the resolution of public safety issues. Organization staff is supported by a GRPD Crime Prevention Coordinator who serves as a liaison between neighborhood staff and the GRPD.

Complete the Request for Qualifications Response form and email it along with required attachments to communitydev@grcity.us. Responses are due by 11:59 p.m. EST on July 30, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
