FY 2026 Neighborhood-Based Public Safety Program
Southeast Neighborhoods
The City of Grand Rapids (City) seeks organizations with the capacity to successfully implement neighborhood-based public safety activities in the geography of the former South East Community Association and Madison Area Neighborhood Association, subsets of the Southtown Specific Target Area.
Background. The City’s neighborhood-based public safety program is a partnership between the Community Development Department (CDD), the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD), and neighborhood-based organizations. The City provides neighborhood-based organizations with financial support to carry out activities that increase public safety, including outreach and education efforts, and the resolution of public safety issues. Organization staff is supported by a GRPD Crime Prevention Coordinator who serves as a liaison between neighborhood staff and the GRPD.

Two virtual workshops will be held via Microsoft Teams to provide additional information and answer any questions related to the application. The content of both workshops will be the same. Application Submission. Responses will be accepted from Wednesday, July 9, 2025, through 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Complete the Request for Qualifications Response form and email it along with required attachments to communitydev@grcity.us. Responses are due by 11:59 p.m. EST on July 30, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
