Most city offices and the yard waste drop off site are closed Friday, July 4th for Independence Day. Refuse, recycle, and yard waste curbside services are delayed one day after the holiday.
Many programs funded through the Community Development Department have income-based eligibility requirements. Income limits are based on household size and a percentage of the Area Median Income (AMI) for the Grand Rapids area.
The Community Development Department operates the Homebuyer Assistance Fund and Housing Rehabilitation programs. The income limit for both of these programs is 80% of AMI. Other programs operated by our community partners may have different income limits.
These limits are updated annually and are provided for informational purposes. Other factors may also be considered when determining eligibility.
To apply for assistance through the Homebuyer Assistance Fund, you will need to first work with a participating lender to get pre-approved for a mortgage. Your lender will help submit your application.
