Assistant Fire Chief

Assistant Chief Edward Braman currently serves as the Assistant Chief of Administration for the Grand Rapids Fire Department (GRFD). Chief Braman has over 25 years in the fire service, 16 of which have been with GRFD. In his years of service Assistant Chief Braman has served with the department’s Water and Technical Rescue teams, as an EMS Instructor Coordinator, and acting Emergency Manager.

Appointed to Assistant Chief, Braman’s primary responsibilities include overseeing the department’s Fleet and Facilities, Budget, and Strategic Planning. Additional responsibilities include Wellness and Awards oversight.
