Wag 'n' Wade Dog Swim

The Wag 'n' Wade dog swim is returning for its seventh year!

Grand Rapids is going to the dogs! We're closing the 2024 pool season with another pawsome event at Richmond Pool. The event is free and open to all community members but pre-registration is required. Registration links below.

Event Format

The event is split into four 1-hour sessions. Each session has room for 120 dogs. We want to make sure every dog has a chance to swim, please only register for one session.

Session 1: Small Dogs

12:00 - 1:00 pm
Meant for dogs under 35 pounds

Session 2: Large Dogs I

1:15 - 2:15 pm
Meant for dogs over 35 pounds

Session 3: Large Dogs II

2:30 - 3:30 pm
Meant for dogs over 35 pounds

Session 4: Older Dogs

3:45 - 4:45 pm
Meant for dogs ages 8+

Event day reminders

We'll provide:

Dog waste bags
Drinking water for dogs
LOTS of tennis balls

What you'll need to bring:

Leash for taking your dog in and out of the pool area
A towel (optional, but recommended)
A dog life jacket (optional, but recommended)
Dog booties (optional, but recommended)

Rules:

No humans are allowed in the pool water, only dogs
Your dog(s) must be on a leash when entering and leaving the pool
You must supervise and remain with your dog at all times
Your dog must always be wearing a collar
Please leave all personal toys and treats at home
You are responsible to clean up after your dog
If your dog(s) is acting aggressively, you will need to remove yourself and your dog(s) from the pool area
