Fountain-Lyon Two-Way Conversion Study
Fountain-Lyon Two-Way Conversion Study
- Project type: Study
Summary
Share your ideas and priorities for Fountain and Lyon Streets!
The City of Grand Rapids is hosting a community planning process on Thursday, June 13 to get your feedback on future design and operations of Fountain and Lyon Streets NE (N Division Avenue to Diamond Avenue NE).
You are invited to attend a meeting to provide your ideas and priorities for transportation on these streets. As the community’s transportation needs evolve, the City is reviewing its one-way street pairs like Fountain and Lyon.
Key areas of discussion at the transportation planning open house may include:
- Keep Fountain and Lyon as one-way streets or consider two-way travel on them.
- Intersection needs, transit operations, and school access throughout the study area.
- Pedestrian and bicycle safety and access.
- Opportunities to beautify and “green” the corridor with features like benches, bike parking and public art.
Concept street designs and recommendations for Fountain and Lyon will be developed based on community and stakeholder input and informed by the safety and traffic operations work being completed by the City.
