1. Before we get started
A couple of notes on GR PayIt:
- Security. Rest assured that your payment information is encrypted when it's submitted and securely stored by a third party. These practices are PCI DSS compliant.
- Goodbye processing fees. There are no processing fees when making payments for water bills, paying for parking tickets or adding funds to your refuse account in GR PayIt .
2. Your pre-payment amount
We charge per tip of your waste cart. The cost per tip is based on the cart size:
- 32 gallon: $3.63
- 64 gallon: $6.05
- 96 gallon: $8.47
To ensure your trash is picked up, make sure your account has enough funds to cover your tip cost. Remember, you can pay as far in advance as you want. Keep in mind that carts left at the curb may be tipped and charged for service.
3. Payment timeline
When you make a payment through GR PayIt , the payment goes through the following business day by noon. If you make a payment on a holiday, it'll be posted the following business day by noon.
Payments for Trash Pickup the Next Day
You'll need to pay in person to make sure the funds are credited to your account in time. Visit us at City Hall.

4. Decide your payment option
If you need to you can pay online with a credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) or eCheck. You can choose how much you want to add to your account with no added fees. After signing up for an account, GR PayIt will notify you when your account balance hits $10 or less. Set up autopay to add money to your account automatically from your checking or savings account (see step 6).
5. Make your payment
Login to GR PayIt and create an account. You'll be able to add money to your refuse account, find your water bills, and make property tax payments using one account. You decide when and how much to pay. We'll add it to your cart and process your payment with no added fees.
6. Sign up for autopay
Set up autopay in GR PayIt . You'll decide the amount you want to add to your account. We'll charge you this amount each time your waste services account balance hits $10 or less. Adding money to your account using GR PayIt means no added fees!
If your check is returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF) you'll be responsible to pay your bank charges and an additional $30 returned fee to the City.
7. Check your balance
You can find your account balance, tip history, and recycle cart history in your GR PayIt account. Keep in mind that we don't collect your trash if you don't have a positive account balance.
