1. Make sure you have all the required information
Prior to applying for the contractor examinations, be prepared to document your professional experience and provide any and all relevant training/certifications you may have.
You will also be required to have at least one (1) past or present employer verify your boiler experience. Your employer can use the boiler experience verification form to verify your experience online or the person with direct knowledge of your boiler-related experience can provide verification in a signed letter, which may be scanned and emailed to devcenter@grcity.us.
2 .Complete the application

3. Have your payment ready
Make sure to bring payment for the $25 boiler license examination fee. We accept cash, credit, and debit (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express). If mailing your application, all payments must be by check.
4. Submit your application to our office
We accept printed applications to sign up for a boiler license examination by mail or in person. We can't accept emailed or faxed applications. You can find our address in the Contact Us section of this page.
(Note: Applications must be sent in and approved twenty (20) calendar days prior to the examination date. If accepted, you will be notified by letter)
5. We'll review your application
The application will be reviewed upon receipt of a completed application, required attachments, and fee. If it is approved, an admission notice will be mailed to you approximately ten (10) days prior to the scheduled exam date. However, if additional information is required, correspondence will be sent to you specifying the additional information necessary for approval.
