Grand Rapids celebrates one year of DART EV CarShare Pilot Program

The City of Grand Rapids’ Mobile GR Department is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its DART EV CarShare program, a pilot initiative launched in October 2024 to provide residents and visitors with convenient, low-cost access to electric vehicles. As part of the Michigan Carshare network, DART EV CarShare allows users to reserve an electric vehicle for $5 per hour, which includes insurance.

Oxford Trail project wins prestigious state planning award

Even though construction has just begun on the Oxford Trail project – a $9 million investment in the City’s first ward – it’s already being recognized as a model for inclusive and community-driven planning. The Michigan Association of Planning has bestowed its 2025 Planning Excellence Award for Advancing Diversity and Social Change in Honor of Paul Davidoff to the project.

Seasonal parking rules begin on many neighborhood streets Saturday, Nov. 1. Odd-even and same-side parking restrictions start on this date to allow City street sweepers and snowplows easier access to neighborhood streets while clearing roads of leaves, tree debris and snow throughout the fall and winter.
