City to celebrate grand opening of new Public Service Center

The City of Grand Rapids will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 16, to celebrate the grand opening of its new Public Service Center, a modern, consolidated operations hub that marks a major milestone in the City’s long-term infrastructure strategy. The event will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at 1500 Scribner Ave. NW.

Grand Rapids celebrates one year of DART EV CarShare Pilot Program

The City of Grand Rapids’ Mobile GR Department is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its DART EV CarShare program, a pilot initiative launched in October 2024 to provide residents and visitors with convenient, low-cost access to electric vehicles. As part of the Michigan Carshare network, DART EV CarShare allows users to reserve an electric vehicle for $5 per hour, which includes insurance.

Oxford Trail project wins prestigious state planning award

Even though construction has just begun on the Oxford Trail project – a $9 million investment in the City’s first ward – it’s already being recognized as a model for inclusive and community-driven planning. The Michigan Association of Planning has bestowed its 2025 Planning Excellence Award for Advancing Diversity and Social Change in Honor of Paul Davidoff to the project.
