GRPD asking for the community’s help to locate a missing man

The Grand Rapids Police Department is searching for James Barcus, white male, aged 78, who was last seen leaving the Kent County Veterans Home on Monroe Ave NE Dec. 4. Mr. Barcus may be experiencing issues with memory loss and/or dementia. He does not have family nearby or other known locations he could potentially seek out in the Grand Rapids area.

GRFD honors Kevin “Milly” Milanowski as 2025 Firefighter of the Year

The Grand Rapids Fire Department (GRFD) celebrated the achievements of its members last night during the Annual Awards and Promotional Ceremony and Firefighter of the Year Banquet in downtown Grand Rapids. During the evening, the GRFD presented its 2025 Firefighter of the Year Award to Equipment Operator Kevin “Milly” Milanowski for his leadership and innovation.
