1. Before we get started
A couple of notes on GR PayIt:
- Security. Rest assured that your payment information is encrypted when it's submitted and securely stored by a third party. These practices are PCI DSS compliant.
- Goodbye processing fees. There are no processing fees when making payments for water bills, paying for parking tickets or adding funds to your refuse account in GR PayIt.
2. Payment timeline
When you make a payment through GR PayIt, the payment goes through the following business day by noon. If you make a payment on a holiday, it'll be posted the following business day by noon.
Was your water turned off for nonpayment? We're not able to turn your water on again until your full balance payment posts to your account. We recommend you pay your full balance in person at City Hall so the payment posts immediately. If you pay online or via mail there will be a delay from one to several days.
3. Payment date
Need more time? We can extend your due date by 4 days if all of these apply to you:
- Your account is in good standing
- Your bill is not past due
- You call before your bill due date
Call us to determine if you're able to extend your due date. Our number is in the Contact Us section of this page. We're open Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Keep in mind that we're closed on weekends and holidays.
4. Decide your payment option
You can pay online with credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) or eCheck. You can also have your bill amount automatically deducted from your checking or savings account if you signup for autopay (see step 8).
5. Make your payment
Login to GR PayIt and create a user account. Use the Water Bot to link your water account (you may link more than one water account to your user account). Choose your method of payment. We'll process your payment with no added fees.
6. Sign up for autopay
Set up autopay in GR PayIt. Once you're set up, the full amount of your water/sewer bill will be deducted from your checking or savings account. Paying your water bill in GR PayIt means no added fees!
If your check is returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF) you'll be responsible to pay your bank charges and an additional $30 returned fee to the City.
7. Enroll in paperless billing
You can go green and stop receiving paper bills in the mail by signing up for paperless billing. Simply click on "Enroll in eBilling” to enroll your water account in paperless bills. We’ll email you when your new bill is ready. If you wish to start receiving paper bills again, choose “Unenroll from eBilling” in GR PayIt.
View your current or past water bills
You can use eServices to get a copy of your current or previous water bills. We'll walk you through how to create an account or log in to view current or past water bills.
