Client Testimonials
"In 2016. I was convicted of a ccw [Carrying a Concealed Weapon] it affected my life and career tremendously. At the time I was a CNA at a nursing home for nine years and going to college for nursing that's all I knew since graduating from high school. When it occurred to me I was dismissed from work and unable to renew my CNA license and financially unable to care for my family. I was forced to do jobs I didn't like but became good at, but still I wasn't happy with my inner self and career. I thank OPA and Faith for a second opportunity at life and bringing back my confidence and happiness again. Being able to expunge my record has helped me in many ways I was always getting denied jobs because of it. Recently right after my expungement I applied at my old job I had before this conviction, caring for the elderly in a nursing home I got it back again and you don't understand how happy that makes me feel to be able to do with I love the most and am so passionate about. I'm able to pick up my life from where I left off in 2016. After being rejected for seven years, I'm ready for this new journey all thanks for this program. I ask the State of Michigan and organizers of this originazation to continue to fund for a better future everyone deserves a second chance for mistakes they have done in the past. I also applied to go back to nursing school and was accept and will start classes this fall at GRCC. I want to give a big thank you to Faith fir always showing up, encouraging me and for being a great person at her job through this emotional process, also to OPA making differences in our future.
Sincerely,
