City of Grand Rapids launches newly designed website focused on resident services
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The City of Grand Rapids today announced the launch of its newly redesigned website grandrapidsmi.gov, marking a major milestone in a years-long effort to modernize the City’s digital presence. The refreshed site features a cleaner look and improved navigation, all powered by a new content management system that offers greater capabilities at a lower cost.
The redesign reorganizes the site around the programs and services residents use most, shifting away from the previous department-based structure. Visitors will now find information grouped under four primary categories: Government, Living in GR, Grow and Thrive, and Explore and Play.
The site introduces a prominently featured “I Want To…” section with dropdown options that help users quickly access Online Information, Payment Services, and ways to Engage with the City. It also prominently features images of the top functions visitors look for on the site, such as Make a Payment, Report an Issue, Waste Services, Water and Sewer, Find Parking, and Employment. Finally, the site lists a robust calendar so one can find out what’s happing in GR and read the latest news updates from the City.
“Our goal has been to make it easier for residents, businesses and visitors to find what they need, when they need it,” said Communications Director David Green. “This new design reflects extensive feedback and modern best practices, and it provides a more intuitive and welcoming digital front door for our community.”
The redesigned website is available now at grandrapidsmi.gov.
