Search or Pay using BS&A

Overview

BS&A Online provides important property information and allows you to pay for City services. You don't need to create an account or log in to use this site.

BS&A Online provides information on multiple cities and townships. To open the Grand Rapids page in a new window, click below.

Note: If the top left of the screen doesn't say City of Grand Rapids / Kent County / MI, you can change the Municipality under the drop down menu on the top right of the screen.

Search

At the top of the page you'll see a search bar. On the left side of the search bar is a drop down menu that gives you options to search by Address, Name, or Parcel Number. Choose how you'd like to search and type your information in the search bar. Click Search or press Enter after you've entered your information.

Results

Depending on your search criteria, you may receive one or more results. Each line item will have columns for the Address, Reference # and Name of the property owner.

The parcel number or parcel id for the property is the Reference #. City of Grand Rapids parcel numbers are 12 digits and begin with "41" (ex. 41-12-34-567-890).

Note: If the 12 digit number in this column is followed by (Customer ID), that is not the parcel id for the property.

Select Record

You should already have the results from your search. If you want to look up a different property, type in the address, name, or parcel number in the search bar at the top of the screen.

Click on the line item with the information you want to view. The next screen will have a picture of the property and a summary at the top of the page. Under the picture are three tabs: Property Information, Tax Information and Invoices.

Here you can find detailed information about the property. There are 7 sections that provide information you may be looking for:

Owner and Taxpayer Information
General Information for Tax Year
Land Information
Legal Description
Land Division Act Information
Sale History
Building Information

Let's say you're looking for the SEV for a recent tax year:

Scroll down to the "General Information for Tax Year" section
The SEV for the current year is in the column on the right
If you need the SEV for one of the past years, scroll down to the blue heading "Previous Year Information"
You can also find your Principal Residence Exemption (PRE) percentage in this section under the blue heading "Principal Residence Exemption Information"

You can print this information by clicking on the Print icon in the top right corner of the property summary section.

TAX INFORMATION

Click on the "Tax Information" tab next to the "Property Information" tab. There are 3 sections of tax related information:

Owner and Taxpayer Information
Other Information
Tax History

In the Tax History section, you can see your summer and winter property tax information for the current year and previous years back to 2004. To view the details of the year, click on the arrow in the far left column to expand it.

If you want to print the detailed information, click on the link under the heading "Tax Bill Breakdown" where it says "Click here for a printer friendly version of the Tax Information".

Search

To search, begin at the Grand Rapids main page:

BS&A Online

Look on the left side of the screen. You'll see a white box with a black header titled “Services”
In that box, find the sub header “Online Payments”
Click on the only option “Miscellaneous Receivables Payments”

You have 4 options to search for your invoice. If you misplaced your invoice or don’t know the number, try using Search by Name using just your last name, or Search by Address.

Select Record

Once you find the line item with the correct name, reference number, and address in the results, click on it. If you open the record and find that it's not the invoice you want to pay, click the Step 2: Select Record button to return to the results page.
