About the Board
We make sure Grand Rapids keeps its trees healthy. Here's a look at what we do to meet that goal:

Requirements
- 11 members
- Mayor appoints 5 members who are citizens demonstrating an interest or expertise in trees
- 1 member must be a member of the Parks and Recreation advisory board
- 1 member must be a certified arborist
- 1 member is recommended by the current major utility (Consumers Energy) and is appointed by the City Commission.
- City Manager appoints 4 members, 2 of which must be city employees
- 1 Alternate member is appointed by the City Commission
Residency Requirement
There is no residency requirement to be a member of this team.
Term Limits
Your term on this board is for 3 years. There is no term limit, so you can serve an unlimited number of terms.
Compensation
There is no compensation for being a member on this board.

Meetings
All meetings of the Urban Forestry Committee are held on the second Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at 1500 Scribner in the Rapids Room (Room 2106) which is located on the second floor of the Grand Rapids Public Service Center.
