Southtown Corridor Improvement Authority
Request for Proposals
The Southtown Corridor Improvement Authority (Southtown CIA) is seeking proposals from qualified service providers to deliver high-quality cleaning and maintenance services across six business districts in the City of Grand Rapids.
The goal is to enhance public spaces, promote economic vibrancy, and support equitable community development through consistent upkeep and beautification.
There will be an informational meeting and a tour of the 6 business districts March 20, 2026, at 1:30 PM. Reach out to info@southtowngr.com.
The last day to submit proposals is March 27, 2026.
About the Board
The Southtown CIA encompasses six business districts in their development area: Boston Square, Madison Square, Seymour Square, Alger Heights, Eastern & Franklin, and South Division (from Wealthy to Hall).

Development Support Policy
The Southtown CIA has a development support policy, which provides support for certain development projects that need significant public infrastructure investments and results in at least one of the following:
- Retention of permanent jobs
- Creation of permanent jobs
- Addition of residential units
- Creation of new greenspace available to the public

Business Associations Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
The MOU executed with each of the Southtown CIA's six business associations allows the CIA to provide $10,000 annually in support to each association. Learn More
