About Free Outdoor Fitness Classes

Now in its eleventh year, the Free Outdoor Fitness Class program run by the Department of Parks and Recreation is a summer highlight for Grand Rapids neighbors and visitors. For 16 weeks, a variety of fitness classes occur in local parks and are taught by experienced instructors. Classes range from yoga to high-energy options like HIGH Fitness and Zumba to strength focused classes like circuit training.

Wether you're looking to return to a favorite class this summer, get outside, or make new friends, Free Outdoor Fitness is a great way to enjoy summer in Grand Rapids.

Thank you to our 2026 sponsors Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. and Priority Health for their continued partnership with this program!
