Mobile GR hosts transit access engagement events

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The City of Grand Rapids’ Mobile GR Department is launching a public engagement initiative to influence transit access investments for the next fiscal year. With over $2 million annually allocated to the DASH downtown circulator, rising operating costs have spotlighted the need for strategic community input to guide future funding decisions. The City is hosting multiple public engagement events for residents to participate and provide input.

Public Engagement Events

Community members are invited to attend any one of three identical in-person sessions where they can review investment options, discuss community benefits and trade-offs, and rank priorities. All three events will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments and beverages will be available.

  • Thursday, Aug. 27: Center for Community Transformation (1530 Madison Ave SE)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 1: GRPS University (1400 Fuller Ave NE)
  • Thursday, Sept. 3: Grand Rapids Public Library Main (111 Library St NE).

Register for any of these events here.

Following the public meetings, City staff will compile community preferences alongside operational data. The City Commission will review recommendations and make final funding decisions this November.
