Grand Rapids honors five standout projects at 2026 Historic Preservation Awards
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Historic Preservation Commission presented its 2026 Historic Preservation Awards Monday evening, celebrating five projects that strengthened the city’s architectural heritage and delivered meaningful physical, social and economic benefits.
City Commissioner Milinda Ysasi and Commission Chair Matt Dixon joined community members, project teams and preservation advocates at the Grand Rapids Public Library’s Ryerson Auditorium for the ceremony, which ran from 6 to 8 p.m. The annual awards highlight exemplary efforts to restore, rehabilitate, or elevate historic resources across Grand Rapids.
This year’s honorees included a mix of residential, commercial and neighborhood‑scale achievements:
- Pinnacle – Clipper Belt Lacer Complex — 974–1010 Front Avenue NW
- Silva – Mark Secchia, Kathryn Chaplow, Rockford Construction, Integrated Architecture — 975 Ottawa NW
- Phil & Morgan Carey‑Bergen & Heritage Craftsman — 233 College SE
- Frank & Melissa Patis – Kendall Dean House — 2350 Leonard NW
- Auburn Hills Committee & Past Perfect – Auburn Hills Neighborhood
