This process applies when an extension or relocation of City of Grand Rapids owned utilities is involved in the proposed development. This includes utilities in the City service areas (sanitary sewer and water main) which extend beyond the city limits into the following municipalities: City of Kentwood, City of Walker, Grand Rapids Township, Cascade Township and Tallmadge Township.

We'll review your Preliminary Utility Plan (PUP). We do this to make sure your proposed utility configuration aligns with the local service area agreement and the City's utility master plan. This takes about three weeks.
