Do you own a business that uses materials that could be dangerous. Or do you own a business that holds a large number of people. You may need to apply for an Operational Permit.

The Grand Rapids Fire Department requires an Operational Fire Permits for businesses that handle, store or use dangerous materials. They are also required for certain facilities of assembly. This form will help you determine if you need to apply for an Operational Fire Permit.

We will send you an invoice after our review. We issue the permit once we have received payment. Operational Permits must be renewed each year. The permit cycle is from January to December. We will send out a notice when it is time to renew your permit.
