Summer Series at Joe Taylor Park

In May, will be hosting a neighborhood cookout with hotdogs, hamburgers, and snacks. Games will be provided for people of all ages which will include: spades, chess, yard games, races, and other picnic activities. Will have music and art projects as well throughout the afternoon.

In June, will focus on highlighting local black-owned businesses, resources, artists, and stories. Will provide food, music, art, and engaging activities while bringing people together.

In July, will wrap up the series with the neighborhood BBQ Showdown. Residents will have the opportunity to prepare BBQ for our panel of judges to be crowned the Baxter BBQ Champion. Will also provide food, music, games, and art for event attendees while our contestants are preparing their dishes.
