City earns 42nd consecutive excellence in financial reporting award

The City of Grand Rapids has achieved the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) “Excellence in Financial Reporting Award” for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. This marks the 42nd consecutive year the City has received this prestigious award. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

City to release RFI/RFQ for Solar on Butterworth Landfill

The City of Grand Rapids’ vision and work to generate solar power from the Butterworth Landfill site has persisted for over a decade and now has new momentum. On Tuesday, Sept. 5, the City Commission heard an overview of opportunities from the Office of Sustainability and Strategy and confirmed its support for issuing a request for information and request for qualifications (RFI/RFQ).
