About the Board

The South Division-Grandville CIA will work to revitalize the commercial and mixed used business corridors within its boundaries. It will do this by:

  • Making permanent, one time improvements to their district
  • Hosting marketing and promotional activities
  • Providing a forum for discussions on investment and development projects

This CIA includes the following business districts:

  • Grandville Avenue
  • South Division (from Hall to Colrain)

Board Composition

  • 9 members
  • One member is appointed as the Mayor's "Designee"
  • At least one member must live within a half a mile of the CIA
  • The majority of members must have ownership or business interest in property located in the CIA
  • There must be a member with a business interest from each business district in the CIA
  • Members are appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Commission on December 31

Annual Activity Synopsis

The South Division-Grandville CIA completed their Tax Increment Financing and Development Plan in FY2019, which allowed them to begin tax capture in FY2020.

The South Division-Grandville CIA does not have tax increment revenues which have not been expended within 5 years of their receipt.


Budgets


Audits

The South Division-Grandville CIA will be audited as part of the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) beginning in FY2020.  The CIA did not have any revenues or expenditures prior to July 1, 2019.

Residency Requirement

As long as one member within the board resides within half a mile of the CIA, there are no other residency requirements.


Term Limits

Terms on this board are for 4 years. There is no term limit, so you can serve an unlimited number of terms.


Compensation

There is no compensation for members on this board.

Exterior Upgrades

Are you a commercial business owner or property owner within the South Division-Grandville Corridor Improvement Authority (CIA) Boundary? If so, you may be eligible to apply for the South Division-Grandville CIA Facade Improvement Program.

This program gives financial reimbursement of up to $10,000 for upgrades or alterations to building exteriors.  Additionally, applicants may receive up to an additional $2,000 for design assistance, which can be used to hire an architect to provide design consultation.
